The Challenge
The Reading Public Museum, a dynamic center for lifelong learning and discovery, and the crown jewel of Greater Reading's arts and culture, needed to upgrade its existing website to place more emphasis on the many programs and events offered within the museum, planetarium and arboretum. The site needed to be attractive, easy to navigate, and functional for visitors and the museum staff charged with keeping it current.
The Solution
The Museum chose to work with its existing web partner, Niemczyk Hoffmann Group, because the relationship offered many advantages. The firm was familiar with the Museum, having produced the first site in the early 2000s. NHG programs its sites in PHP, open source architecture, which gives the Museum staff the flexibility to add and update content without being tied to proprietary software and licensed users. And, the Museum staff liked NHG's ability to bring creative ideas to the process, resulting in a more robust site.
The Result
The Reading Public Museum now enjoys a visually attractive, fully functional, robust site that provides an assortment of easy-to-use features and near one-click access to anything on the site. If you've not been to the museum, planetarium or arboretum lately, you can get a great idea of what to expect when you visit by checking out the Reading Public Museum's new site.
